Influenced by show tune-loving parents and a Berklee-trained older brother, Ric spent hours listening to the family’s diverse record collection, taking lessons on accordion, and noodling at his brother’s keyboards or the living room piano. In 1982, at the age of 15, he learned to play “Blackbird” on a borrowed Ovation guitar, sparking a lifelong interest in fingerstyle playing.
