PRODUCTION / CELLAR STAFF

We are looking for an experienced brewer to assist with all aspects of the brewing process, from the production of wort to fermentation, packaging, and ensuring quality control from ‘grain to glass.’ A qualified candidate will have a genuine love of craft beer and be willing/able to take instruction and coaching from our Team. 

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the Production Team to execute and manage day-to-day brewing activities including mashing, lautering, boiling, fermentation, and conditioning of beer.

• Collaborate with the head brewer and other team members to develop new and exciting beer recipes while maintaining the consistency of core products.

• Ensure product quality from ‘grain to glass.’ This includes monitoring and ensuring beer quality at all stages of the brewing process, including selection of raw materials and performing regular testing, tastings, and adjustments to our beer as needed.

• Identify and perform routine maintenance and cleaning of brewing equipment, ensuring it is clean, in working order, and operating efficiently. Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.

• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products. Use Untold’s brewery software to record brew data. Manage inventory levels and communicate with the head brewer to ensure the brewery has the necessary stock.

• Follow all brewery safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness of the brewing area, equipment, and storage spaces. Ensure proper sanitation practices are in place at all times.

• Work alongside other brewers and production staff to ensure smooth, efficient operations and a positive working environment.

• Contribute to Untold’s overall mission and focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a commercial brewing environment.

• Strong knowledge of brewing techniques, fermentation, and beer styles.

• Proven experience with brewing equipment, including kettles, fermenters, and bottling/canning lines (Wild Goose preferred).

• Understanding of yeast propagation, microbiology, and quality control methods.

• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices within a brewery environment.

• Attention to detail, excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Passion for craft beer and a desire to push the boundaries of brewing innovation.

• Schedule flexibility including the ability to work an occasional weekend day if necessary.

• Ability to stand for 6-10 hours/day.

• Ability to lift objects greater than 60 LBS.

• Experience operating a fork lift and/or pallet jack (certification preferred).
